The objective of the course is the acquisition of the required Clinical Psychiatry and Child Psychiatry knowledge
by the students, regarding taking the patient’s medical history, clinical psychiatric examination, psychiatric semiology as well as nosology and the treatment of specific mental disorders, emphasizing on social psychiatry issues.
The course is divided in two units:
UNIT I
It pertains to the cognitive field of Adult Clinical Psychiatry. Theoretical issues and clinical cases are demonstrated, in person or by patients’ folders.
UNIT II
It pertains to the cognitive field of Child Clinical Psychiatry. Theoretical issues and clinical cases are demonstrated, in person or by patients’ folders.
The course material is taught in the B’ semester and is a continuation of the material of the course “Clinical
Adult And Child & Adolescent Psychiatry I (Emphasizing On Social Psychiatry Issues)”

The objective of the course is the acquisition of the required Psychiatric Epidemiology, Statistics and Research Design knowledge by the Students.
The course is divided in two units:
UNIT I
It pertains to the cognitive field of Psychiatric Epidemiology and Psychometry. The fundamental epidemiology concepts are analysed and
The most important psychiatric epidemiological researches are thoroughly presented, as well as the epidemiology of specialized mental disorders. The student familiarize
themselves with the psychiatric epidemiology issues through problem solving and practice for the writing of epidemiologic research.
UNIT II
It pertains to the cognitive field of Statistics and Research Design, aiming at the acquisition of the required a) knowledge of Research Design and Statistics oriented to
biology and social sciences, b) skills to understand, evaluate and design research.
Theoretical concepts regarding statistics and research methodology are presented.
There are laboratories and experiential exercises for the understanding of theoretical concepts and research writing.
The course material is taught in the B’ semester and is a continuation of the material of the course «Psychiatric Epidemiology – Statistics – Research Design ΙI»

The course aims at the understanding of the principles of Social-Community Psychiatry,
as they are specialized for adults, children and teenagers. It pertains to a) the main theoretical
concepts of Social Psychology which consist the background for the understanding of psychosocial factors that contribute to the etiopathology of mental disorders and the stigma the latter induce, b) the engagement of sociocultural factors
in etiopathology, clinical manifestation, course,
treatment and prevention of mental disorder, c) the organization of decentralized mental health services that function collectively close or/and inside humane communities, d) the acquisition of specialized knowledge as well as research, organizational and clinical skills, that can work effectively as professionals in in Social Psychiatry
(Child and Adolescent) services and actively contribute
to the promotion of the Psychiatric Reform’s objectives.
The course is divided in three units:
UNIT I
It pertains to the cognitive field of Social Psychology. Theoretical concepts are specialized through provision and analysis of representative
examples relevant to the field of Social Psychology.
UNIT II
It pertains to the cognitive field of Community Psychiatry. Within the framework of the unit, there are theoretical courses and lab practice, as well as visit to model Mental Health Services, for adults.
UNIT III
It pertains to the cognitive field of Community Child and Adolescent Community Psychiatry. Within the framework of the unit, there are theoretical courses and lab practice, as well as visit to model Mental Health Services, for children and adolescents.
The course material is taught in the B’ semester.

The objective of the courses is for the students to acquire the skills required in order to be able to design, implement and write a research project, cooperating in the context
of a multidisciplinary team.
The objective is achieved mainly through the advice of the supervisor to the students, so the latter can
design, implement and write
a research project with a topic related to
social psychiatry.

The Internship takes place in Public Social Services of the law 2716/1999 which provide community psychiatry services or any other relevant public services.

The course aims at the understanding of the principles of Social-Community Psychiatry, as they are specialized for adults, children and teenagers.
It pertains to a) the engagement of sociocultural factors
in etiopathology, clinical manifestation, course, treatment and prevention of mental disorder, b) the organization of decentralized mental health services that function collectively close or/and inside humane communities, c) the acquisition of specialized knowledge as well as research, organizational and clinical skills, that can work effectively as professionals in in Social Psychiatry (Child and Adolescent) services and actively contribute
to the promotion of the Psychiatric Reform’s objectives, d) the acquisition of the required Forensic Psychiatry knowledge, e) the acquisition of the required Psychiatric Ethics knowledge.
The course is divided in four units:
UNIT I
It pertains to the cognitive field of Community
Psychiatry. Within the framework of the unit,
there are theoretical courses and lab practice, as well as visit to model Mental Health Services, for adults.
UNIT II
It pertains to the cognitive field of Community Child and Adolescent Community Psychiatry. Within the framework of the unit, there are theoretical courses and lab practice, as well as visit to model Mental Health Services, for children and adolescents.
UNIT III
It pertains to the cognitive field of Forensic Psychiatry, aiming at the acquisition of the required knowledge by the students mainly regarding issues of involuntary hospitalization, non compos mentis , as well as legal capacity and judicial support. Theoretical issues and clinical cases are demonstrated, in person or by patients’ folders.
UNIT IV
It pertains to the cognitive field of Psychiatric Ethics. Theoretical topics, such as professional ethics code, international contracts and declarations that are related to people with mental disorders and special issues that relate to ethics in psychotherapy are developed. The students familiarize themselves with the recognition and practice in the ethical dilemmas problem solving. Theoretical issues and clinical cases are demonstrated, in person or by patients’ folders.
The course material is taught in the C’ semester and
is a continuation of the material of the course «Community Adult And Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Ι»

The course aims at the acquisition of the required knowledge regarding main psychiatric therapies (biological, psychotherapy, social interventions), as they are applied within the context of Social Psychiatry
Theoretical issues and clinical cases are demonstrated, in person or by patients’ folders.

The objective of the courses is for the students to acquire the skills required in order to be able to design, implement and write a research project, cooperating in the context
of a multidisciplinary team.
The objective is achieved mainly through the advice of the supervisor to the students, so the latter can
design, implement and write
a research project with a topic related to
social psychiatry.

The postgraduate students must write and successfully defend their postgraduate thesis in the 4th semester.
The postgraduate thesis can be a research thesis or a review thesis and contain recognizable traits
of originality and contribution to scientific knowledge
The postgraduate thesis topic must belong in the scientific field of the postgraduate program and utilize the knowledge acquired from the lessons.
